I've never heard of the Goombay Festival. It sounds intriguing though. What exactly is it? I do know Coconut Grove, though, so that makes me even more interested.

Thanks for the link, Gigi. Wow, 33 years and this is the first I've heard of it. Like I said,though, I do know Coconut Grove. I'm definitely interested in attending, but I'm not sure if I can go in 2010 or not. Finances are tough.

I missed it by just a few days this year (I moved down here later in June). I've heard so much about it though from coworkers and friends. I definitely want to check it out next summer. =)

I have never been myself but you are right it does look interesting and for the one who mentioned not knowing about it - trust me, I have lived in a few states, you always learn something new each day. Being a grown up comes with many things and all states have hidden treasures. :)
